While guidance and information is available to aspiring OHTs to support development of their digital health plans, little attention has been given to the concept of data governance and its role in facilitating functions like population health management, predictive analytics, and quality improvement. With the mandate to enable seamless and secure health information exchange for care planning and delivery as well as enabling unfettered access to health information for patients/consumers, there is growing need to establish a forum and leading practices for data governance, information sharing and discussion of common challenges and opportunities across OHTs.

The panel highlights diverse perspectives and considerations on digital enablement and data governance that are anchored in real world use cases in an effort to stimulate discussion and collaboration.
